Back pain
Back pain can make everyday activities, exercise, work, and even sleep more difficult. At Rally to Rise Physical Therapy, we help people from Ammon, Idaho Falls, and throughout Eastern Idaho understand what’s contributing to their pain and develop a plan to get moving comfortably again.
Back pain can come from many different sources, including muscle strains, irritated joints, disc problems, arthritis, changes in the way you move, or a combination of these. Because there can be so many different contributing factors, it can be hard to know what to do. Our physical therapists can evaluate your movement, strength, mobility, and symptoms to help determine what may be contributing to your pain. We’ll also work with your primary care physician or surgeon when appropriate to make sure you’re getting the best care we can provide.
What is causing my back pain?

Back pain can develop for many different reasons, and the cause isn't always obvious. It may be related to an injury, repetitive activity, prolonged sitting, lifting, changes in strength or mobility, or the way your body moves. Sometimes pain develops gradually without one specific event that caused it. Where you feel the pain and what makes it better or worse can provide important clues. During your evaluation, we'll look at how you move and how your strength, mobility, and other factors may be contributing to your symptoms. Understanding these factors can help us develop a treatment plan that addresses more than just where your back hurts.
How can physical therapy help?

Rally to Rise Physical therapy focuses on more than simply treating the area that hurts. We look at how your mobility, strength, posture, and movement patterns may be contributing to your symptoms so we can treat causes and not just symptoms.. Your treatment may include hands-on techniques like massage, what we call modalities like heat and electrical stimulation for pain relief, targeted exercises, education, and a plan to help you get back to the activities you enjoy. If we can help you we will, and if we don't see progress we will help you find help.
What should I do next?

You don't have to wait for back pain to become severe before seeking help.
